Get to Know Your Team: 

  • UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 48-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available.

Responsibilities

  • Registers patients for therapy in Epic per hospital policies.
  • Addresses issues on Epic work queues daily to insure a smooth work flow in the department.
  • Obtains insurance verification for outpatient rehabilitation/post-acute care benefits and performs pre-certifications as required.
  • Explains hospital regulations relative to charges and payment. Performs these operations via telephone/fax when appropriate.
  • Performs various clerical duties as needed, including filing, copying, ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintains communication between offsite clinics. Trains clinic staff related to registration requirements and procedures.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Two (2) years of medical and insurance billing in a hospital setting or multi-physician office 
  • Experience scheduling in a hospital setting or multi-physician office 
  • Hospital clerical or physician office experience 
  • Experience using EPIC 
  • Additional two years of higher education
