Responsibilities

  • The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory care interventions in accordance with the standards established by the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) Clinical Practice Guidelines, Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, and Respiratory Care Department Policy.
  • Under the supervision of the Director/Supervisor and upon a physician's order, the Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses the cardiopulmonary status of patients of all ages (neonate through geriatric) and provides care which includes assessment, treatment, control diagnostic evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Consults with physicians for orders of patient care.
  • Provides consultation, instruction and/or technical direction of medical, nursing, and other staff members.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • RRT Licensure by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts
  • Associate Degree Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • One-year Clinical Experience.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Preferred Job Requirements: 

  • Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Critical Care experience in a hospital setting is a plus.
  • Positive, caring and customer-service-oriented attitude.
