Message from the CEO
At UT Health Athens, caring for our patients comes first. This includes patient care delivered at our hospital, our freestanding ER in Gun Barrel City and clinics. We believe in providing high-quality and high-tech healthcare delivered with compassion, respect, accountability and responsibility. We are united in our purpose of caring for people, our patients and one another.
Each caregiver’s job at UT Health Athens is important. All caregivers have an impact on the lives of patients and their families – at the bedside and beyond.
We also believe it is important to have fun at work through our employee engagement events and culture committee efforts. For example, periodically we hold Town Hall meetings called “Chick-fil-A and Chat” with administration to give our caregivers updates on various strategic initiatives and to receive feedback, opportunities for improvement and concerns we can address. Our caregivers love Chick-fil-A!
At times our work calls for us to go outside our traditional job descriptions to meet the needs of our patients and others. At UT Health Athens, exceptional work is not only acknowledged, but valued and appreciated. We have a passion for our purpose and hold one another accountable to strive for excellence each day.
